My wife Iris and I live near Wolfenbüttel. Since a few years we form a 2-person shared apartment again, because our sons Connor and Silas (currently) live, work and study in Freiburg and Mainz. 

 

I was born in 1966 in Braunschweig. There I grew up and went to school. After graduating from high school, I completed an apprenticeship in the electrotechnical field. After completing my civilian service and studying electrical engineering, also in Braunschweig, I began my professional career at what is now Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. And here I have now been working for 25 years in various functions in the rolling mill sector. 

 

In 1999, I started cycling "ambitiously". It all started with a Canyon racing bike (many thanks for this to Matthias Fuchs). A few years later I got my first hardtail mountain bike, another few years later a comfortable Fully. And since then I have stuck with it. 

 

For about 10 years, I also make multi-day trips with the bike. In 2019, I got a gravel bike that has been my absolute favorite bike since then and with which I also drove my tour to Barcelona in 2022.
