2. Stage from Halle to Plauen

In the morning, the body hurt less than expected. A night's sleep can work wonders. Breakfast at the hotel then made the regeneration complete - almost.

Shortly after 9 a.m., my old scout friend Stefan Dombrowski arrived. His wife Ina had brought him and his brand new gravel bike to Halle. We will be on the road together for the next three days until Regensburg. His support and motivation got me through this stage today.

The day was gray in total, but rain-free, and the landscape traversed was mostly rural with plenty of wind turbines. In the Relive video of the day can be seen that the attractions of the day were a flock of sheep, the "Weisse Elster" and the crossing of a mud puddle. There goes more!

The day was characterized by the length of the route and the number of meters of altitude to be overcome. That 2/3 of the altitude meters were to be taken after 110km, was - from the distribution - really shit.

After more than 8h on the bike (time in motion!) we arrived only shortly before 8 p.m. in Plauen. Our Hotel Garni is run by a Chinese who prefers to be paid in cash. I think we are the only guests.

The actual and real highlight of the day is that Stefan has joined and accompanies me even the next 2 days.

And here: The pictures of the day and the route.
